Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Testing
01
Q1: What is AOD testing?
A1: AOD testing refers to the process of screening employees for the presence of alcohol and other drugs in their system to ensure workplace safety and compliance with organizational policies.
02
Q2: Why is AOD testing important?
A2: AOD testing is important for maintaining a safe and productive work environment. It helps to identify and manage risks associated with substance use, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and promoting overall health and safety.
03
Q3: What types of AOD tests do you offer?
A3: We offer a variety of AOD tests including urine, saliva, and breathalyzer tests. However, we focus mainly on saliva as this less intrusive, fast and still provides an accurate result. We can test on your specific requirements.
04
Q4: How often should AOD testing be conducted?
A4: The frequency of AOD testing depends on the company’s policy, industry regulations, and specific workplace conditions. Regular testing can be scheduled monthly, quarterly, or randomly as required.
05
Q5: What happens if an employee provides a non-negative result?
A5: If an employee provides a non-negative result, we follow a set protocol which includes confirmatory testing, where a sample undergoes a further test at a lab - its only from the lab result that a positive result can be declared. In this case, we report to the employer, and can advise on suitable actions such as counseling, rehabilitation, or disciplinary measures as per internal policies.
